Operations Manager - Hastings - Full Time Permanent

Role and Responsibilities
  • To manage and maintain the smooth punctual operation of buses on all routes within the contract areas
  • To ensure that enough fully trained staff are available in all transport service delivery areas and that quality and staff procedures are incorporated in all passenger transport and charter coach operations.
  • To ensure all administration duties are completed on time and as specified.
  • To actively increase charter expansion within the Hawkes Bay region.
  • To provide back up in the Region as directed by the manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Car  (Class 1) and Bus (Class 2 and 4) licence
  • NZQA Level 3 or higher
  • National Certificate in First Line Management (or working towards one) is an advantage.

Special Needs Schools Manager - Auckland - Full Time Permanent

Role and Responsibilities

Depot Administrator - Hamilton

  • Check driver licencing,  medical and other statutory obligations in databases  and from weekly HR Event Summaries to ensure full compliance
  • Investigate and answer all parent/caregiver, Service Agent and Schools queries (email, phone, letter) and refer exceptional or statutory issues to manager for advice and guidance
  • Organise and advise drivers for training and liaise with Driver Trainers and Fleet Administrator for remedial training as directed by manager.
  • Input accidents and insurance information     accurately into the specified system.
  • Order the correct uniform as per Go Bus Uniform policy and standards
  • Ensure drivers’ standard weekly hours are loaded  into Zambion, inputting all charters and other exceptions to standard hours to approval stage for final checking and approval by manager

  • Run ibright reports on out of hours vehicle use, speeding and other exceptions to standard driving and advise manager of anomalies. Investigate and report back to manager as directed.

Depot Supervisor - Christchurch

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the manager within the depot and its wider  operations
  • Direct the efficient running of the operation and promote teamwork amongst drivers.
  • Ensure correct  destination signs are displayed, manage detours, drivers comply with uniform policy
  • Take proactive steps to keep services on time, instruct drivers to take corrective steps to get back on time
  • Ensure all drivers report for duty and all shifts start on time. Replace sick drivers,  changeover  any bus that has broken down
  • Communicate professionally and effectively to drivers, coach and mentor.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety standards are met. Ensure when an incident/accident occurs that the necessary reports are completed and filed. Serious events must be communicated to a Senior Manager immediately, ideally Depot Manager first.
  • Liaise with workshop to attend breakdowns that you can’t solve by directing driver.
  • Supervision of Night Shift Cleaners

Payroll/HR Administrator - Fixed term/12 months

Role and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and ensure managers/supervisors/administration personnel are aware of the payroll deadlines and adhere to them
  • Complete employment agreements for depots as required
  • Assist with ACC claims as required
  • Complete all necessary payroll functions on a timely and accurate basis to all employees for the business and ensuring wages are paid in accordance with individual and collective employment agreements
  • New Employees have their details enter correctly into the payroll stem and all other systems that are required.  This includes external systems that the company use to operate its business (E.g. TORO NZTA, Driver check,  etc)
  • Remaining abreast of current wage/labour related legislation and ensuring payrolls are maintained accordingly

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification in Business or related field – HR major (desirable)

Full Time Employment as an Urban Bus Driver

We have current full time roles available for Urban driving in Hamilton, Napier, Hastings, Tauranga and Christchurch.

Part Time Employment as a School Bus Driver

Part time employment as a school bus driver generally involves being available between the hours of 7.30am - 9.00am and then again 2.45pm - 4.30pm each day of the school term. The right applicant would be required to undergo some driver training and have a good rapport with students. Casual On-call drivers are required to fill in when the regular driver is on holiday or sick. A casual on-call driver may also be required to work outside normal hours and weekends.

After School and School Holiday Employment

From time to time Go Bus requires additional assistance in our workshops.

Duties involve: 

  • Cleaning Buses and painting wheels
  • Removing and preparing seats for upholstery
  • Sanding vehicles in preparation for painting
  • Running errands (drivers license required)
